Department Town Historian
East Bloomfield, located in the historic Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York is a small rural community, whose roots lie deep in agriculture. It is the birthplace of the Northern Spy Apple. And whether several generations of East Bloomfield residents preceded you, or you have recently made our Town your new home, we welcome you to our website where we offer several valuable resources.
East Bloomfield was part of a larger land purchase called the Phelps-Gorham purchase, in 1789. The nearby towns of Mendon and Victor were part of this purchase and separated from Bloomfield in 1812. To learn more about our history and traditions, please visit the History link to the left!
